About BP Life Coaching Services, LLC

About Us

BP Life Coaching Services, LLC was founded by Barbara Palmer on August 6, 2020. Ms. Palmer decided to establish this woman-owned small business using her personal earnings from a full-time job at Pima Medical Institute and occasional weekend work as an occupational therapist. Her motivation to start BP Life Coaching Services grew stronger in 2020 when the state of Texas was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The idea for BP Life Coaching Services was triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic and the events following George Floyd's tragic death in Houston.

During this time, Barbara conceived IDEA training, a unique approach to inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility. This training spans five modules conducted over five weeks, offering a transformative experience surpassing traditional diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. IDEA training promotes conscious and unconscious learning, leading to the adoption of new attitudes, actions, and outcomes that demonstrate heightened awareness, compassion, and self-management.

Beyond IDEA training, BP Life Coaching Services offers diverse programs designed to strengthen leadership skills and teams. These services empower participants to recognize and reframe limiting beliefs, fostering healthier thinking, emotions, behaviors, and actions aligned with their visions, facilitating meaningful and lasting change.

Our company’s USP’s include decades of experience working closely with corporate and departmental leadership, professionals, and support staff at universities, healthcare systems, public health, government, and faith-based organizations.

Meet Barbara Ann Palmer,

CEO

Hello, I'm Ms. Palmer, and I'm the author of "Healthy, Happy, Whole," a Health and Wellbeing Workbook. I'm also a continuing education speaker who loves talking openly about mindful and innovative ways to prevent, manage, and reverse burnout and chronic health conditions.

I've spent more than three decades in administration and management roles within healthcare, human services, and community outreach efforts. My educational journey includes a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from Wayne State University, a master's degree in Christian Counseling from Word Bible College, and another master’s degree in information systems management with a concentration in healthcare from DeVry University Keller Graduate School of Management.

I'm certified as a health coach by the National Society of Health Coaches and as a life coach by the Brave Thinking Institute. These coaching credentials are recognized by the International Coaching Federation, known for its high coaching standards in the U.S. and globally.

Throughout my career, I've excelled in using standardized assessments to identify needs, creating customized solutions, setting goals, and providing targeted training. I'm skilled at managing change and resolving any challenges that may arise during planning and implementation.

I've collaborated with leaders across government, academia, healthcare, and community health sectors. Notably, I served as a liaison for a minority health research project at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and coordinated aid for families affected by Hurricane Katrina in Birmingham, Alabama.

I've consulted for both for-profit and non-profit organizations, worked with government agencies, small business owners, congregational leadership, and teams. Additionally, I've collaborated with social service organizations, coordinating public health efforts and providing clinical, community outreach, academic, and crisis prevention interventions to diverse communities.

Beyond my professional life, I have a wide array of personal interests. These include assisting others in their journey, reading, traveling, writing, crafting, bowling, savoring time with loved ones, prioritizing health and wellness, embracing aging gracefully, and following my passions.

Coaching people has been a part of my life for four decades, stemming from my roles as an occupational therapist, program director, program developer, manager, consultant, lay minister, and college instructor. However, I decided to undergo additional training and focus on consulting, coaching, and training services when my desire to help more and more people became too strong to ignore or override.

For me, what I do is more than a profession; it's a calling deeply connected to my core and purpose. I leverage my education, training, work experience, volunteer work, business acumen, community involvement, personality, gifts, talents, abilities, and certifications to provide exceptional services to my clients.
